On the 10th of February, I will have myself locked up in a former prison in the Netherlands for 10 hours to support Amnesty International's campaign: Writing You Free. 

With a lifelong focus on human rights, social justice and empowerment through academic research, writing, policy work, and daily personal consciousness to keep growing, I am participating in the 'Schrijf Je Vrij' challenge to further these causes through the power of words. I am not an activist but this campaign opens the doors for everyone to support the release of human rights defenders. As I take on this 10-hour writing marathon in a former prison, I hope you will aid me in this endeavour!

Yes! Gelukt, Doel Bereikt and Then Some.

English below Geweldige supporters, dankjulliewel! Het doel is verpletterd alsof het niets was! 💥 Een enorme shoutout naar de anonieme held die €100 gedropped heeft. Jouw steun is niet zomaar een druppel in de oceaan; het veroorzaakt golven van verandering en helpt mijn kleine contributie voor justice meer impact te geven. Elke euro gaat rechtstreeks naar Amnesty International voor de Schrijf Je Vrij-campagne en loopt nog door.  Het is zo ver! Vandaag ga ik dus de bak in, de Lik in Utrecht. Choice of weapon? Een pen en papier. Een van de vrijheidsstrijders voor wie we zullen schrijven is Chow Hang-tung, de opmerkelijke stem uit Hongkong. Deze dappere vrouw staat voor mensenrechten en weigert geschiedenis te laten zwijgen. Daarom eert ze elk jaar de slachtoffers van het Tiananmen-plein waarvoor ze nu sinds januari 2022 vastzit. Ook kreeg zij dit jaar de Gwangju-mensenrechtenprijs.   We schrijven mee aan een toekomst waar rechtvaardigheid regeert. Het wordt episch, en je wilt erbij zijn dus hou mijn stories in de gaten op IG: fausiadiaries. ________________ Amazing supporters, thank you so much! The big day! I'm heading into the slammer, De Lik in Utrecht. Choice of weapon? Pen and paper. One of the freedom fighters we'll be writing for is Chow Hang-tung, the remarkable voice from Hong Kong. This brave woman stands for human rights and refuses to let history be silenced. That's why she honors the victims of Tiananmen Square every year, for which she's been in detention since January 2022. She was also awarded the Gwangju Human Rights Prize this year.
